The Northeast Minneapolis Municipal Iris Gardens will have its first bloom season this spring. A juried Iris Show and Mayoral ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Sunday, May 20, 2018. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at noon outside in the Gardens, weather permitting. The juried Iris Show will be held concurrently inside the Manor, in the fireplace room. Anyone who grows a named iris may cut and bring their irises from 8-10am to display and compete in the iris show. Participation is free and fun! Judging will take place at 10am. The Iris show will open for public viewing at noon, following the ribbon cutting and Mayor Frey’s remarks.
